Eden Reforestation Projects employs local villagers in the poorest countries to plant millions of native tree species every year. This not only helps the environment, but it also helps to raise local villagers out of extreme poverty by giving them a decent income so that they can provide for their families again. As the reforestation effort goes on, healthy forests begin to emerge and all the negative effects of deforestation begin to disappear.
The loss of the planet's rainforests is a major driver of climate change. Trees produce oxygen, absorb carbon dioxide from the atmosphere, and help cool the land. Tragically, about half of the world’s forests have been cut down over the past 100 years. This has accelerated the effects of climate change and has resulted in devastating desertification, erosion and flooding. To counter this deforestation, Eden Reforestation Projects have so far helped to plant over 250 million trees in Ethiopia, Madagascar, Nepal, Haiti, Indonesia, Mozambique and Kenya.

Oxfam is a global movement of millions of people who share the belief that, in a world rich in resources, poverty isn't inevitable. Oxfam is a confederation of 20 independent charitable organizations focusing on the alleviation of global poverty, founded in 1942 and led by Oxfam International. It is a major nonprofit group with an extensive collection of operations. Oxfam is a globally renowned aid and development charity with 70 years of experience, working and campaigning with partners in over 90 countries worldwide.
Climate change is affecting many of the communities with which Oxfam works; undermining their livelihoods through gradual, insidious changes in temperature and rainfall patterns, and increasing the frequency and/or intensity of hazards such as floods and droughts. Despite doing the least to cause it, poor people are experiencing the full force of climate change. Oxfam is working to reduce the impact of global warming - now and in the future.

UNHCR, the UN Refugee Agency, is a global organisation dedicated to saving lives, protecting rights and building a better future for refugees, forcibly displaced communities and stateless people. It provides humanitarian relief such as shelter, clean water and sanitation, and strives to ensure that everyone has the right to seek asylum and find safe refuge, with the option to eventually return home, integrate or resettle.
Forcibly displaced and stateless people are on the frontlines of the climate emergency. The impacts of climate change are numerous and may both trigger displacement and worsen living conditions. Many displaced people live in climate "hotspots", where they typically lack the resources to adapt to an increasingly hostile environment; while for those already displaced, climate change can reduce the chance of being able to return home. UNHCR is providing protection and assistance to many refugees and other people displaced by the effects of climate change, as well as helping them increase their resilience to future disasters.

UNICEF, the United Nations Children's Fund (formerly known as the United Nations International Children's Emergency Fund) helps address the long-term needs of children and women in developing countries everywhere, with an emphasis on developing community-level services to promote the health and well-being of children. UNICEF works in 190 countries and territories to save children’s lives, to defend their rights, and to help them fulfil their potential, from early childhood through adolescence. UNICEF's network of over 150 country offices, headquarters and other offices, and 34 National Committees carry out UNICEF's mission through programs developed with host governments.
Devastating floods, cyclones, droughts, storm surges, sea level rise, salt water intrusion and other environmental disasters linked to climate change are threatening the lives and futures of millions of children in the poorest countries around the world. UNICEF raises funds to protect all children in danger, transform their lives and build a safer world for tomorrow’s children.

WaterAid works in partnership with local organisations in 37 countries in Africa, Asia, Central America and the Pacific region to help poor communities establish sustainable water supplies and toilets, close to home, and to promote safe hygiene practices. It also works to influence government water and sanitation policies to serve the interests of vulnerable people and to ensure water and sanitation are prioritised in poverty reduction plans. By ensuring the supply of clean water and access to toilets, WaterAid helps prevent water-borne infections and diarrhoea that can result in the death of vulnerable people, including babies and young children.
Climate change is water change – for millions of people that means their drinking water and sanitation is under threat. In the dry season, ponds and rivers dry up and water is even harder to find. When floods come, these water sources are often contaminated by human waste, and disease spreads fast. Climate change is making these challenges worse, leading to more extreme weather. When the changing climate causes extreme weather, it's the poorest people who suffer most, being least able to prepare and protect themselves. WaterAid seeks to alleviate the suffering of millions of people in poverty-stricken areas by providing clean water and sanitation.

WWF is the world’s leading independent conservation organisation. Their mission is to create a world where people and nature can thrive together. WWF is a global network organisation with offices in more than 90 countries and they are collaborating on projects in over 100 countries by working with business, governments, communities and individuals. WWF is focused on four key focus areas, these are: putting nature first, making our food system more sustainable, tackling the climate crisis and enabling habitats and species to thrive. We’re the first generation to know we are destroying our planet and could be the last that can do anything about it. The next 10 years are crucial, we must fight for our world to prevent irreversible damage.
Climate change poses a fundamental threat to the places, species and people’s livelihoods that WWF works to protect. Sea levels are rising and oceans are becoming warmer. Longer, more intense droughts threaten crops, wildlife and freshwater supplies. From polar bears in the Arctic to marine turtles off the coast of Africa, our planet’s diversity of life is at risk from the changing climate. To adequately address this crisis we must urgently reduce carbon pollution and prepare for the consequences of global warming, which we are already experiencing. WWF works to advance policies to fight climate change, engage with businesses to reduce carbon emissions and help people and nature adapt to a changing climate.
